Reconstruction of Past Antarctic Temperature Using Present Seasonal ?18O–Inversion Layer Temperature: Unified Slope Equations and Applications

چکیده
Abstract Reconstructing the history of polar temperature from ice core water isotope ( ? 18 O) calibration has remained a challenge in paleoclimate research, because our incomplete understanding various temperature– O relationships. This paper resolves this classical problem new framework called unified slope equations (USE), which illustrates general relations among spatial and temporal O–surface slopes. The USE is applied to Antarctica change during last deglaciation model simulations observations. It shown that comparable Antarctica-mean with deglacial reconstruction caused, accidentally, by compensation responses between O–inversion layer relation inversion itself. Furthermore, light USE, we propose present seasonal an optimal paleothermometer more accurate robust than slope. suggests possibility reconstructing past Antarctic changes using future instrumental Significance Statement develops (USE) provide, for first time, isotope–temperature application shows temperature.

Temperament (Mizaj), as an individual factor, has great importance in traditional medicine and its use in diagnosis and treatment of diseases, as well as the individual lifestyle is very common. Since medicine moves toward Personalized Medicine, the root of individual differences will find its position in different aspects of medicine in early future. In traditional medicine, temperament is ...
متن کاملTuberculosis: Past, Present and Future
Background Tuberculosis (TB) is the second-most common cause of death from infectious disease (after those due to HIV/AIDS). Roughly one-third of the world's population has been infected with M. tuberculosis, with new infections occurring in about 1% of the population each year. People with active TB can infect 10-15 other people through close contact over the course of a year. Materials and ...
متن کاملACL Reconstruction- The Past and the Present
Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) injury has been the most controversial ligamentous injuries which have been studied in detail for the past 20 years. Knee instability is a disabling clinical problem. Management of ACL injured patients depends on an early diagnosis and adequate treatment. This article deals with the advent and the progression of various techniques of ACL reconstruction.
متن کاملCoupled air–mixed-layer temperature predictability for climate reconstruction
A central issue for understanding past climates involves the use of sparse time-integrated data to recover the physical properties of the coupled climate system. We explore this issue in a simple model of the midlatitude climate system that has attributes consistent with the observed climate. A quasigeostrophic (QG) model thermally coupled to a slab ocean is used to approximate midlatitude coup...
